Are you an Extrovert, Introvert or an Ambivert?

Teddy_jumping

Are you gregarious, enthusiastic, the life of the party; an extrovert? Are you reserved, prefer solitary activities; an introvert?

Or perhaps an ambivert

I never knew about ambiversion until today.  I've always felt I posses traits of both and never felt I belonged in either 100%.  I love to socialize, love parties, love gatherings, yet I often seek time alone to read, craft, and photograph.

My extrovert side loves wearing bright colors; my introvert side also loves wearing black and comfortable clothes that don't tug or fit too tight. My extrovert side loves listening to fun upbeat music; my introvert side also loves escaping to soothing music. My extrovert side (at work) loves daily interaction; my introvert side also wishes I had more quiet time. My extrovert side loves being a part of conversations; my introvert side also loves sitting back and observing.

Okay, I think I just confused myself again. :)

Live the Question

Pict0559-tiltshift

...have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart.

Try to love the questions themselves,

like locked rooms and like books written in foreign language.

Do not now look for the answers.

They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them.

At present you need to live the question.

Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it,

find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.

Leaves are Fallin'

Dsc_0077

The first official day of winter is December 22 but it sure feels like autumn is not waiting around much longer.  We've had several days of high winds and the leaves are scattered on the ground.

Dsc_0044

I love taking closeup shots of pretty things. I suppose I want to see every single detail. I picked up this leaf after I snapped the photo to look at it up close. So pretty!

I may forget about them in a few weeks once inches of snow are on the ground, but these photos will help me remember our amazingly beautiful autumn.

Living in Hope

Pict3281

When I feel most alone,

Hope holds my hand.

When sadness buckles me,

Hope helps me stand.

When circumstances overwhelm me,

Hope glorifies them.

When I fear self-revelation,

Hope gives me courage to be myself.

To live in hope is to believe

in light when it is dark,

in beauty when ugliness abounds,

in peace when conflict reigns,

in love when hatred marches.

Photo Prompt: Aqua

Arborcrest

This photograph is from the archives but it's one of my favorites of the hubster and my mom. It was during one of her first trips to visit us in Washington.  Coming from Texas, she was in awe of our mild summer weather.  We spent an entire afternoon at a local winery enjoying each other's company.

I stood there watching them as they walked off arm in arm. I sighed, snapped a photo with my heart, then quickly aimed the camera.

The Crazy Woman at the Park

Dsc_0133

My husband gifted me an early birthday gift... a Nikon D5100. I love it and have officially gone insane! I read the manual cover to cover, saw the DVD that came with it and played with all the bells and whistles. Then off to the park I went!

How do I know I'm crazy about it? Well, I took a bizillion pictures of this cute little squirrel. Isn't he a great model? He was busy preparing for winter and saving up all those acorns.

Dsc_0114

I made a mistake. I didn't bundle up.  I should have at least worn gloves and as a result my fingers almost froze off.

Dsc_0151

I have some pre-big-girl camera photos I still plan on sharing with you in future posts but I'm also excited about learning my new camera. I have so much to learn.  Want to follow along with me? Good.

Dsc_0131

But back to the squirrel. I'm sure the he's going to run from me next time he sees me arriving at the park. He's going to say, "there's that crazy woman again!"

I Can Decide

Pict3206

There is so much about my fate that I cannot control,

but other things do fall under my jurisdiction.

I can decide how I spend my time, whom I interact with,

whom I share my body and life and money and energy with.

I can select what I can read and eat and study.

I can choose how I'm going to regard

unfortunate circumstances in my life -

wheter I will see them as curses or opportunities.

I can choose my words and the tone

of my voice in which I speak to others.

And most of all, I can choose my thoughts.

The giveaway is still open; it closes tomorrow night. Come on over and put your name in the hat. There's only a few entries so your chances to win are high! :)

Prompt: Look up, what do you see?

Rainbow_2

The winds picked up and the clouds rolled in followed by a beautiful rain. Then there it was! This beautiful rainbow. Actually, there's a second rainbow. Can you see it? The hubster and I stood there, staring at it and then poof, it was gone. I'm sure glad I took a moment to look up to notice it. :)

By the way, did you know yesterday was my one year blog anniversary? Yes, and I have a fun giveaway!  Click here to enter
