Are you an Extrovert, Introvert or an Ambivert?

Teddy_jumping

Are you gregarious, enthusiastic, the life of the party; an extrovert? Are you reserved, prefer solitary activities; an introvert?

Or perhaps an ambivert

I never knew about ambiversion until today.  I've always felt I posses traits of both and never felt I belonged in either 100%.  I love to socialize, love parties, love gatherings, yet I often seek time alone to read, craft, and photograph.

My extrovert side loves wearing bright colors; my introvert side also loves wearing black and comfortable clothes that don't tug or fit too tight. My extrovert side loves listening to fun upbeat music; my introvert side also loves escaping to soothing music. My extrovert side (at work) loves daily interaction; my introvert side also wishes I had more quiet time. My extrovert side loves being a part of conversations; my introvert side also loves sitting back and observing.

Okay, I think I just confused myself again. :)

Wisdom Teeth Fun

I had all my wisdom teeth removed this morning. As it so happens, I heard various horror stories for the past couple of days. When the nurse called my name and asked if I was ready my answer was a.... no. But there I was and there was no turning back.

  • The nurses did a great job to make me comfortable. We were having fun and I asked them if they've seen this hilarious YouTube video.  I was shocked they hadn't but they promised they'd check it out.
  • The oral surgeon was a cutie patootie but it didn't make me feel any better. Eye candy doesn't work in this situation.
  • My boss informed me that things stop working after 40 and organs will have to start being removed. Ha! That didn't make me feel better either.
  • I hope I loose at least 5 pounds since I won't be eating like a horse like I normally do for the next couple of days.
  • Now I know how it feels to have my eyes crossed; the drugs were so darn good.
  • I wonder, will removing the teeth give me a permanent duck face?

The nurse just called to check up on me and I told her I felt better than I sound; I had just placed new gauze in my mouth. I sound like Marlon Brando in the The Godfather if he were a woman.

Snow White Christmas

_dsc0601

You would have thought we had never seen snow in our entire lives. We've been wishing for snow and lo and behold, it snowed on Christmas Eve.

It wasn't an enormous downpour but boy was it beautiful! The snowflakes were huge! It's amazing how the perfect snowfall can lift your spirits.

Christmas music in the background, hot cocoa in a cup and watching a dreamy snowfall... whew! Perfect!

We dreamed of a white Christmas and our dream came true! :)

The Crazy Woman at the Park

Dsc_0133

My husband gifted me an early birthday gift... a Nikon D5100. I love it and have officially gone insane! I read the manual cover to cover, saw the DVD that came with it and played with all the bells and whistles. Then off to the park I went!

How do I know I'm crazy about it? Well, I took a bizillion pictures of this cute little squirrel. Isn't he a great model? He was busy preparing for winter and saving up all those acorns.

Dsc_0114

I made a mistake. I didn't bundle up.  I should have at least worn gloves and as a result my fingers almost froze off.

Dsc_0151

I have some pre-big-girl camera photos I still plan on sharing with you in future posts but I'm also excited about learning my new camera. I have so much to learn.  Want to follow along with me? Good.

But back to the squirrel. I'm sure the he's going to run from me next time he sees me arriving at the park. He's going to say, "there's that crazy woman again!"

Back To Work

2011-09-05_16
Did you do something this weekend that blew your hair back? Kirby sure did!  I captured this on our way to the park and it made me laugh... out loud! Could there be anything better in this world than an afternoon walk at the park?  I don't think so!  At least not as far as Kirby is concerned.

I hope you had a nice, long, Labor Day weekend my friends.

I read... and lounged... and blogged... and facebooked... and shopped... and enjoyed the outdoors.

And now, back to work we go!

Prompt: Table At Mealtime

Shot_1310924051948

This week's 52 Photos Project is Table at Mealtime and what I am about to describe is completely out of the ordinary and definitely not a part of our regular mealtime routine.  This is a good example of the term: life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

The sky was blue, birds were singing, grass blades were growing and then we discovered... the refrigerator had gone out!  I was tempted to say a bad word in spanish but was too busy cleaning out the fridge.  It was a state of emergency!

A freezer full of meat had thawed and we didn't have a choice; everything had to be cooked or else it would have gone bad. We grilled 24 burger patties, baked 2 chickens, baked 2 pounds of fish, boiled 2 pounds of shrimp and a partridge in a pear tree.

In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't a tragedy at all.

Plus, looking at it on the bright side, how often do we get to wake up our neighbors at 8:00 a.m. with the delicious aroma of burgers on the grill. :)

A Bachelor No More

Bachelor_no_more

Do you remember this post about our bachelor birdie?

Well, I have an important announcement to make.  Our bachelor birdie has found himself a girl!

Finally!

Did you happen to notice the R-rated photo?  I felt like a paparazzi/national geographic photographer when I took the photo; I busted them in the act!  They've been busy on the fence, on the trees, on the ground and in their birdhouse.  The house is rocking!  And I'm not kidding!

Let me tell you he's been grinning from ear to ear.

Needless to say, our patio is quiet now.  He doesn't need to sing at the top of his lungs anymore.  They've both been busy collecting twigs and preparing their nest for their babies.

They found true love. They lived happily ever after.

The End.

Snow In Summer

2011-06-12_15
These were our plans:

Plan A: Wait until the cover of darkness, camouflage and invade the backyard of complete strangers.  Plan B: Load up a shovel in the truck, ring the doorbell, distract the home owner, do the job, then take off in the getaway car.

These plans were all in an effort to get a fragrant flowering plant called Snow in Summer from someone's backyard.  I suppose ringing the doorbell and simply asking for the name of the flower would have worked, but the home was in a less than desirable neighborhood, and well, we value our lives.

Plan A and Plan B sounded fun, but we're no con-artists, plus I'm sure the giggles would have given us away. We went to several nurseries in search of the elusive plant but we never found it.

2011-06-12_15

Then... this fine day we decided to try a different nursery and there they were!  We could almost hear the angels singing!  The husband grabbed the little red wagon, quickly filled it up and was almost skipping with joy!

Thank goodness we'll finally have snow in summer in our yard!  The fragrant, pretty white flower kind... not the fluffly snowflake kind; I'm not ready for that kind of snow yet.

Bachelor in Waiting

Bird_on_house

Is there a match.com for birds? No?

Our poor little birdie is a bachelor and is looking for a partner.  He's been singing his best songs as loud as he can for weeks and no one is giving him the time of day.  He sits on the roof of his home, waiting, but the girls don't come!  He may be a common house sparrow but we know he's a good catch.

And get this, he has two houses!  He has this house and has also claimed a smaller home on the opposite end of our yard.  He flies back and forth, trying to show the girls that he's available.  He's actually fought off other desperate bachelors from invading his homes.  What a guy!

Pict0070

Look at him!  He's even posing for all the girls!

People, he'd make a great bird husband if someone just gave him the chance. So, if you know any single lady birds out there, please send them our way.

There's a bachelor here waiting to give them their rose. :)
