Jewelry for the Soul

Necklace_005

Wearing a one of a kind piece of jewelry feels incredible!

Lettie from For Giving Works Artisan Jewelry had a giveaway recently and I was the fortunate recipient of this gorgeous piece. Holding it in my hands and placing it on my neck felt amazing.

Lettie's jewelry is of the finest quality.  She selects every bead, knots every knot, and creates every strand with love.

Her pieces are more than a piece of jewelry; they're treasures. It is evident they touch us in a very special way.

Each piece tells a story.

They carry a deep message.

They're symbols.

They have a special meaning.

They remind us of our journey.

They speak deeply to our hearts.

The darling bird on my necklace reminds me to be free. To follow my dream and soar.

Lettie, thank you so much for my new beautiful treasure. I LOVE it!

You can find Lettie's beautiful jewelry here Facebook - Blog - Etsy

Virtual Pinboard: Pinterest

Sylvia_hall_on_pinterest

My new guilty pleasure: Pinterest.

I used to tear off pages and clip images from magazines to keep as a wish list of decorating ideas, beautiful photos, craft projects, do-it-yourself goodies, and so on but I will be doing less of that now that I have found Pinterest.

It's a site where you can create collections of things you love and follow other people's collections with same interests. I log on and "pin" pictures I love from web sites or other Pinterest members and add them to my own collections.

You can join the site by invitation only but because I'm a member I have access to a few invites and I'd be happy to send you an invitation.  Just let me know.

Check out my page

I have also added a link to my Pinterest page and added it here on the right column under "Pages".

But you don't have to be a member if you just want to look at all the eye candy. I tell you... it's addicting but so much fun!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Evernote Keeps Me Organized

This may come in handy if you're striving to be better organized. Have you heard of Evernote? I've been using it for a few months and it's been a lifesaver. I no longer have sticky notes everywhere or printouts of things I stumble upon online. It's a place to store all sorts of online finds and notes; I save web clippings, ideas for this blog, screen shots, trip plans, you name it. You can also even create a password protected folder and share it with family and friends.  I can see lot's of possibilities for this such as sharing recipes, plan a family trip/reunion, etc.

I also added the Evernote App to my phone and use it extensively.  If I'm on the go, I just open the app on my phone, add my notes and it automatically syncs all the information.  It's as simple as that!

Check it out and see if it's something you can use.

Mozy: a Lifesaver

Last year, I got the dreaded blue screen on my computer; it crashed and it was an awful and horrible death.  My heart sank and I was on the brink of big, fat, cry my eyes out kind of tears. I thought of all my treasured photos being completely gone and just sat in front of my computer and felt completely numb.  Then, my friend and coworker Jeremy came to the rescue!  He did his techie magic and recuperated all of my files. He also told me about Mozy.  I learned an enormous lesson; I would back up my in the event this happened again.  Mozy saves all my files and I don't have to lift a finger.  I have the MozyFree option which saves up to 2 GB.  Yes, it's free.  I suppose when I need more files I can pay the monthly fee but this has worked wonderfully for me for now.  What a coincidence!  I just noticed the Mozy icon flashing which means that it's backing up my files... automatically.

Try it and have a happy peace of mind.
