Thinking Happiness

_dsc0824

Think of the things that make you happy,

Not the things that make you sad;

Think of the fine and true in mankind,

Not its sordid side and bad;

Think of the blessings that surround you,

Not the ones that are denied;

Think of the virtues of your friendships,

Not the weak and faulty side;

Think of the gains you've made in business,

Not the losses you've incurred;

Think of the good of you that's spoken,

Not some cruel, hostile word;

Think of the days of health and pleasure,

Not the days of woe and pain;

Think of the days alive with sunshine,

Not the dismal dayus of rain;

Think of the hopes that life before you,

Nto the waste that lies behind;

Think of the treasures you have gathered,

Not the ones you've failed to find;

Think of the service you may render,

Not of serving self alone;

Think of the happiness of others,

And in this you'll find your own!

8 Girls + Cabin + Getaway = Countless Happies

_dsc1239

We didn't all know each other yet we accepted an invitation from our friend Julie and set out for a drive through Idaho to a beautiful cabin for a weekend getway. It was exactly what my soul needed. It was perfect timing!

We all have busy lives, families, and commitments but it's important to make room for friendships.

A retreat with new friends and hours of girl talk, good music, great food, spirits and laughter.

Boy did we laugh!

Are you an Extrovert, Introvert or an Ambivert?

Teddy_jumping

Are you gregarious, enthusiastic, the life of the party; an extrovert? Are you reserved, prefer solitary activities; an introvert?

Or perhaps an ambivert

I never knew about ambiversion until today.  I've always felt I posses traits of both and never felt I belonged in either 100%.  I love to socialize, love parties, love gatherings, yet I often seek time alone to read, craft, and photograph.

My extrovert side loves wearing bright colors; my introvert side also loves wearing black and comfortable clothes that don't tug or fit too tight. My extrovert side loves listening to fun upbeat music; my introvert side also loves escaping to soothing music. My extrovert side (at work) loves daily interaction; my introvert side also wishes I had more quiet time. My extrovert side loves being a part of conversations; my introvert side also loves sitting back and observing.

Okay, I think I just confused myself again. :)

Live & Love

Manito_1

"In the end, I think my greatest concerns will be, How much did I have in my life? How did I share my love? Who loved me? Whom did I treasure? Whose lives did I impact? Did my life make a difference to someone else? How did I serve the world? I'm certain that my only concerns will be about how I did or did not fill my life with love."

Looking Up

_dsc1170

I knew we would be busy. I knew we would be challenged.

We opened our business on Monday.  It hasn't even been a full week. Just to get to that point was amazing, frustrating and extremely rewarding. I've been going from my full-time day job to diving right into our business in the evenings. I've never had dark circles under my eyes before so thank goodness for makeup!

Last night we watched a bit of TV and I asked the hubster if he could remember the last time we did that. We couldn't remember. I almost felt guilty sitting there, doing nothing. I realize we can't go 100 miles an hour every day.  It's not humanly possible.

But I love how life captures our spirit and gives us what we need at the perfect time.

I took this photo one evening when we were preparing for the opening day. We walked out of the facility and were greeted with this spectacular view. I don't know why but I fought off tears. I'm not sure if they were a result from the exhaustion or the reminder that I need to look up.

Thank you. Thank you for the reminder.

It's Up to Me

I get discouraged now and then

When there are clouds of gray,

Until I think about the things

That happened yesterday.

I do not mean the day before

Or those of months ago,

But all the yesterdays in which

I had the chance to grow.

I think of opportunities

That I allowed to die,

And those I took advantage of

Before they passed me by.

And I remember that the past

Presented quite a plight,

But somehow I endured it and

The futured seemed all right.

And I remind myself that I

Am capable and free,

And my success and happiness

Are really up to me.

Taking A Break

_dsc088822

I'm taking the evening off from working on our business and reserving some "me" time. Trust me, it's not all glamorous. It involves doing my nails and immersing myself in a book. I haven't had time to dust, much less sit down and read.

The "me" time for me right now is just being able to reflect in what we have accomplished.

We're definitely paying the price for a reward in years to come. All of our future clients are extremely receptive and excited about our business.  That in itself has been so rewarding! The hubster and I have worked our butts off but we are also incredibly blessed to have so many supportive people around us.

Now more than ever, I have to remind myself to breathe, slow down and do a little something special for myself. That "something special" doesn't have to be anything materialistic but it does need to be something that reminds me of being grateful.

Can Change Your Life Forever

_dsc1125

The words "can change your life forever" keeps rining in my ears as we near the opening of our business.  Oh how our lives will change! We're looking forward to the challenge, new relationships and being a part of our client's lives.

One new perception,

One fresh tought,

One act of surrender,

One change of heart,

One leap of faith,

Can change your life forever.

Have an amazing weekend!

Greetings from the North Pole

Well... not quite from the North Pole but it sure feels like it today.

Are you sunbathing? Flipping around in your flip-flops? Enjoying balmy weather? Well... I'm not.

I'm making a stop by here this weekend to show you photos from today. We've had a snowy and windy day. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, it's absolutely beautiful.
